Welcome to the ebookers Blog.

This month finds us platypus watching in Australia and exploring caves in Oman. We travel with toddlers in tow and do some deep see fishing while in the area. We pampered ourselves on a cruise.. and then finish up on a small island in the Indian Ocean.

Jamaica – Land of wood & water.

I travelled to Jamaica with my husband and two small daughters (aged four and one).

Our first big holiday away since the girls were born, I was very apprehensive about how well they would be catered for but once in Jamaica there was ‘no problem’.

Arriving at Montego Bay Airport we found that Jamaican time started here – Immigration took over one hour to get through.

Porters will be on hand waiting to take your luggage to your transfer bus just to get a tip, and the recommended $1 per suitcase does not swing here, they expect a lot more as this is their livelihood so we ended up having to give $20.  Our transfer from Montego Bay to Ocho Rios took one hour and thirty minutes so added onto our ten hour flight I thought we would never start to enjoy ourselves.

We flew from Dublin to Miami the night before the cruise and headed out on Collins Ave for the night.  What a great way to start the holiday!  Eight women living it up in Miami and heading off the next day on a seven night cruise…

What struck me most the following morning when we crossed over the Bridge heading to Miami Port was the size of the ships. There must have been at least seven cruise ships, one bigger than the next.  The taxi dropped us off at t
