Welcome to the ebookers Blog.

This month finds us platypus watching in Australia and exploring caves in Oman. We travel with toddlers in tow and do some deep see fishing while in the area. We pampered ourselves on a cruise.. and then finish up on a small island in the Indian Ocean.

Somewhere over the rainbow - Iguazu Falls – South America
  Karen Smith’s/   06/09/07

I’m not a person that is easily impressed. However, my first view of Iguazu falls left me with my chin on the ground just staring at the sight in front of me.

In a nutshell, Iguazu Falls is one of the most stunningly beautiful places I have ever seen.  These falls are humongous; they are higher than Niagara and twice as wide, with 275 separate cascades (or mini waterfalls). The falls are shaped like a horseshoe with one side of the falls in Argentina and the other in Brazil. The Iguazu river separates the two countries and at the narrowest point the land drops away, creating the main fall known as the Gargantua del Diablo or Devil’s Throat.

My Trip To Ko Chang - Thailand
  Karen Smith’s/   Posted 06/09/07

You’ll never know if you don’t go!
The first time I went to Thailand I didn’t enjoy it at all, because I didn’t do my research and I really should know better considering I work in travel, shameful I know. Thailand has something for everyone you just need to find the place to suit you.

But this time was FANTASTIC, I chose the right place for me. Now, if you’re like me, and want to get away from it all on a gorgeous beach, good hotel, great food, non busy beaches, sunshine AND for a price that you won’t need a second mortgage for, then the island of Ko Chang in Thailand is the place to go. Honestly, it requires a bit of effort to get to Ko Chang, we had to change planes in Bangkok (as with most of the destinations) in Thailand, and a boat ride, but although I arrived tired I was still able to muster the energy to sit at the pool bar or should I say in the pool on a bar stool, with a long cool drink looking out at the clear blue sea and almost empty golden sandy beach.

  San Francisco
  Alan Josephs/   Posted 22/08/07

Many people who go to San Francisco go straight to the typical tourist attractions… Fisherman’s Wharf, the Golden Gate Bridge, riding the cable cars & Union Square.  These things can be fun but there are better things to do.  I personally like San Francisco for its neighbourhoods and the topography, and simply walking around can give you the best feel for one of the greatest cities in the world.  Suggestions include…

 - Coit Tower at night… both North Beach with its Italian restaurants and cafes and Chinatown are close by, and there are great views from Coit Tower.  Pick a restaurant by its popularity… the more people that are there, the better the restaurant!

A taste of the Big Apple
  Tye A/   04/05/07

New York almost seems like my second home as I was born there and lived there for four years of my early life but I really started to enjoy it as I got older. The atmosphere and people in New York are absolutely amazing and they make you feel welcome like no other state.

New York is considered the city that never sleeps because there is so much to do 24 hours of the day. I flew out with Virgin Atlantic from London Gatwick to Newark airport, which I preferred as it is a slightly smaller airport than JFK and it is only five minutes longer in driving time than going to JFK. It costs approximately $45 plus toll to get to the massive 4* New York Helmsley hotel where I stayed.
